The essentials to set up

Here are the main things to get you up and running in Searchland. Each one has a walkthrough in the video library below.

  • Set up a projectStrongly recommended This is where you'll save your sites or planning applications. These are then visible on the map view when you toggle on Projects, and you're able to send letters directly from the Project where you've saved your sites.
  • Use the sourcing tool This is where you can source land across varying regions, and save your sites into your Project. It's the first stage to finding off-market opportunities and building your site pipeline.
  • Save a site to your project A saved site is the beginning of building and evolving your pipeline with us, whether you're going after development opportunities or saving other things like planning applications. This is where you manage all of your work and see your ROI.
  • Send your letters Once you have your opportunities, get your letter in front of prospective vendors. 50 letters a week will keep your workflow moving nicely.
  • Use the planning tool Here you can assess and filter through planning applications, identify other land opportunities and set up planning alerts for multiple use cases. You can also assess LPA stats like approval rates and decision times.
  • Save planning alertsStrongly recommended You can set up alerts for new applications around a title or across an LPA, as well as setting alerts for competitor activity, track undecided applications and set alerts on certain titles.
  • Run a sales or rental comparables search Learn sales values across council, around your titles and compare prices for different property types. This tool relates to both sales and rental properties.
  • Use the Help Centre for quick support and more tutorialsStrongly recommended The Help Centre has hundreds of videos and tutorials. If you get stuck, the chat feature there will point you to the right answer. If we haven't got one, our live support team will make sure you get one.
